What we are looking for, when casting our main girl artist

Female R&B typically convey their sexuality through their clothing which is minimal, they also place emphasis on sexuality through make up. If we look back at the history of the genre focusing on females it is clear through feminism we have come a long way. 

The female artists use to be portrayed as soft goddess like characters, however females have broken out of that stereotype and are now being sexy, powerful women standing up for what they believe in. The female artists have even began challenging negative stereotypes, it is increasingly common that in music videos females will depict themselves as a male, being the most powerful in the video, Beyonce has done this. 

In our video, we want our artist to show attitude and entitlement we want her to feel and believe she is  self-assured and positive in the way she performs. The idea being she can portray the ‘sexy’ female she wants to be, but because she wants to dress this way, not because of men or at the risk of being considered ‘slutty’.
