- We were lucky enough to meet with George who is amazing with lighting, he basically talked us through our choices and told my class what we have available. Having heard all the options we need to go away and discuss in our group what lights we will need and when.
1) Atomic
3000 DMX, strobe light. You can slow and speed it up (3 flashes a second) the
faster the more stop animated effect you get.
- 2) UV
Cannon,we need to be careful we don’t use cheap white t shirts as the white
glow isn’t strong enough. Same with paint so test everything before you use it.
- 3) Source
four Jr – simple spot lights. Give a hard edge spot with a clear line. They are
static, however you can put colour in front. They also have shutters to shut
off the line allowing us to make more square, rectangle lines.
- 4)Thomas
4 syc – we have 8 available. If you want green screen or infinity screen. It
overpowers light, which is how you use a green screen, so that you don’t get a
pixelated screen before.
- 5)Single
bar with 6 bar cameras, help provide light and you can also but it a screen
over the top for colour, usually just for effects.

- 6)Pixel
Line 1044 – do any colour have all sorts of effects, patterns they are good for
having them on camera or off camera to light people.
-
You
can use projection to get certain patterns as well
7)Clay
Paky Sharpy Wash light, we can make the beam narrow/wide more diffused or less.
Create strobing, search- light. Get cool effects.
8)Martin
Mac 700 Profile – any colour, make it diffused, a hard edge bigger or smaller.
It has a set amount of images which you don’t tend to use for the look of the
image, instead to get lines on sets and aerial effects. Use for our beam of
light on rapper, and rotate at a fast pace.
9)Lastly
they have an animation wheel that can spin and create a ripple effect (water,
fire)
Hayes,
think smoke effect and Dry ice, which sticks to the floor.
