We played the song to the set designers,
and described our five different settings.
We started with the fluorescent maze, of
lights. We wanted ice blue and pink with the idea being they would blend
together. We’d have 8 by 8 and the singer would be weaving in and out. We
discussed the black set. We also mentioned the dry ice, and they agreed that it
would be too much effort then its worth so we scraped that part.
We talked about where we could get a
leather chair from; we need to look into theatre or getting it from props.

In terms of the wheel, we realised it will
be hugely expensive to build so we are not sure if we can have the original
idea like we wanted, however there are ways around this. For instance we could
just have the base sturdy so the artist can stand, and have a circle lit and we
act like we are inside it. We would have a step so the artist would looked
raised as if they were standing on a wheel, or we make a circle with a whole
in, so we shoot it from the one angle meaning we save time and money. We could
also position the female right behind the screen, and we have the camera with a
tube that we place on a stand next to the camera and shoot it straight on
creating the effect that we have a wheel when in reality its just using a pipe.
Lastly we discussed the three screens,
where we have the dancer behind seeing their silhouettes then switch the lights
in front where we see them in front. We decided we could make the frames and
hang the three sheets from the roof. We would have the height about 6’3 and
width would be wider then her so she can dance and not be seen on the sides.
Lastly we talked about possibly using a
black curtain to create our backdrops because, this is easier to set up and it
means we would have a quick turn over time, between sets.
