Key tips for a storyboard

Key tips for storyboard –

When creating a storyboard its important to make it clear and concise.

A few tips include making sketches before you start your final board. You will not know exactly what you want, however as your storyboard develops, you will get a finer idea of what shots need doing and when, therefore doing a sketch before your final storyboard will help save time and money as you can then develop it into your final storyboard without making any mistakes.

You should also try and include a sketch, notes of what’s happening in that scene and a timeline. Once you know what needs to be included and when it is pretty simple to put it all together. The sketches you produce don’t need to be oh high artist standards, however they need to be clear and concise. Another valid thing to consider is that if you are not confident with drawing, there are modern software that lets you create storyboards by selecting and placing objects from a graphics library.

Lastly there are plenty of storyboard templates you can get for free online, this means you don’t have to spend any more and you can use a clear template meaning all you need to do is fill in the boxes, giving you a whole storyboard ready to use for shoot day.
