Photoshoot for our album artwork

We organised to do a photoshoot for our album artwork, we used our main artist and dressed her in an outfit she wore for the song “Are you that somebody” our music video song. First of all, we had to find a space to use, and we decided to borrow the photography studio for the evening as that was the only time it was free. This meant we had to get our artist, our group and a friend to help us with the make-up. She is very experienced with make-up and therefore we explained our look to her, as we weren’t able to get in the same make-up artist that did our shoot day.

I had to get some guidance from a friend who is a good photographer and she suggested ways in which we could set up the lights and what lens to use, for the type of shoot we were doing.

Luckily we had a fan, in the studio so we did some statement shots with her empowering females all over looking very sexy, which we needed as this ties in with her star image, and we know that our target audience aspire to this so we wanted to make the most of it. The shoot took us about two hours in the studio, and initially we struggled to tell our artist how to pose and what to do, however as the evening progressed we were all happy with what we were shooting. We played around with various positions and took many shots. The next stage is to progress with our album artwork using these photos.
