Having all
created a first draft of our album artwork, we discussed our certain choices
and compared our ideas. In the end we all have pretty similar first ideas due
to the fact we all tried to stick to the genre conventions of R&B therefore
it was pretty easy to choose which to go for.
Our main conversation was focused on the colour scheme, we want to use a dark background and have golds/backs incorporated in our artist’s costume. We are having her feature on the front cover striking a pose then the CD disk side will consist of a snake that we are hoping to create in Photoshop wrapping around, showing mystery. We are hoping our colour scheme will appeal to the target audience due to its sexy nature.
The
third side of our album artwork contains the songs in that album listed, and
the flowy white skirt that our artist will have been wearing. The background is
a silhouette of her back and hair, we are hoping to capture all of this through
a photoshoot we are taking this week. After this we are using Photoshop to
create the snake then we will put it all together, hopefully reaching out to
our target audience, making it very visual so they would stop and look at it in
a shop.
