Evaluation Task 2 - How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

In our group we prepared answers and questions for our evaluation task 2. We focused on how star image, our target audience and social media meant we could link all 3 of our ancillary texts. Having taken time out to brainstorm ideas for what our group would discuss in the video, we then prepared to record our ideas and film it. Once we recorded ourselves discussing how effective the combination of our main product and ancillary texts were, we began to edit together the footage. We used examples by overlapping images and videos to demonstrate it more clearly. We then ended up with a video where we had ourselves discussing points whilst there is visually something to look at, to keep the video interesting.

Conclusion:
Overall I think we managed to portray our artists star image clearly throughout all three products within our music campaign.

We used our website to help construct certain star meanings, we did this through colourful backgrounds and behind the scenes photos that we took on our music video shoot day, again reinforcing the link between the products so our target audience is fully aware of our artist’s star image and therefore are attracted to her. On the Digipak we had our artist striking fierce confident poses in order to exert her ideologies that focus mainly on female empowerment.

I think the importance of the combination of our main product and ancillary texts is crucial in order for the target audience to be intrigued by our artist, giving her as large a consumer base as possible, which in the music industry can make or break an artist.
