Album marlowe "It's turing me on"- debut EP
1.I think this is
for an Artist because it is a single female suggesting a soloist, I think the
girl in the image is pretty individual and isolated therefore I think this
would be singles Artist.
2. I think they are
organic because it is an everyday drawing and simplistic, suggesting any one
could do it. Not only this but the colour is a deep red which suggests raw
emotions of either love or anger but revealing it is a true example of something
real making it organic.
3.Indie Pop –
because it is abstract and different from other albums the colour connotes love
and or anger overall showing the intensity of emotion that the music holds.
4.I don’t particularly like how
it is block red with colour as it is a bit too harsh and doesn’t particularly
stand out, which is what an album cover is meant to do to entice the consumer.
Album 2. marlowe darksparklecorner" debut album
1.This particular album
cover suggests a Boy Band because it is weird, and unexpected.
2.It continues to
be Organic because it is a simplistic image suggesting it hasn’t been to messed
with or edited because it is simplistic.
3.Indie Rock/pop,
I get a more Rock vibe this time because it is darker colours and different and
more edgy to what you usually would see.
4.It is different,
retro because of old-fashioned photograph. It has old-school vibe with band
feels to it. On to of this it has an Indie look just a photograph makes it more
personal and amateur giving across their ideologies, this works well for what
the band wants to represent.
Album 3 - "A day in July"
1. I believe they are a Boy band because it seems to be a masculine image with three boys.

2. Applying
Negus’s theory of Organic and synthetic this would be Organic as it is a nature
image and hasn’t been touched.
3The
album suggest they are an Indie Alternative band, the photo shows something different
and the mountains and clouds show a different vibe.
4. It
suggests an alternative vibe, almost cultural with the natural imagery. The
people in the image suggest a very relaxed calming atmosphere It’s more detail
suggesting more depth as a band in their third album. The style of the image is
consistent. The us of a Long shots shows the large scale of a natural picture.
\
Marlowe“deep breathe fake air”

1. They are a Boy Band, as this album is out there and pretty graphic.
2. In
Negus’s theory they would again be Organic.
3. They
would be Indie rock/Pop, due to the colours used.
4. This
album is more mainstream. The red suggests blood in this, deep roar emotions.
Scientific diagram shows inner organs, openness. We get an almost disturbed
vibe from this one. The fake colours contrast hugely with the previous natural
one. Very fake nothing natural to it. The significance as they use the letters
and why they repeat? We notice a sudden change in art/band direction? We ask why
they choose to use a fake image instead of a photo? Does the more refined
artwork reflect changing ideologies?
TESTCARD“ LINES” – debut album
1.
I now
believe this could be an Artist because of the simplicity of the album.
2.
It is
still Organic but now moving more towards synthetic.
3.
The
Artist for me is Indie Alternative as the bland colours show they are trying to
create something a bit different and give their fans something else to listen
to.
4.
It is
simple but artistic, the play on words with lines helps make is more visual and
therefore stand out from other previous album artwork. This may represent their
music as being different and unique. The lack of colour compared to red may
show they are trying to do change their image up and make it more
individualistic.

“ Promises
I should have kept” – debut album
1. I
think this album belongs to a band because it is quirky therefore shows a
cartoon like jokey feeling.
2.The
band would be Indie/Alternative because of the use of language and the fact the
album cover is there to make a statement may be reflecting the type of music they
enjoy creating.
3. Once again using Negus’s theory for me this
band is represented as Organic not Synthetic.
4. I like
the use of the Mexican influence on the artwork, there seems to be a drawing
which shows a childish fun vibe, which may then show in their music later on.
