Props part three

Mirror: We thought it might be nice to add a mirror affect so maybe the audience can see that the grenade is that even when the special forces men haven’t noticed.

Props part two

Duct Tape: We want our victim to appear innocent and helpless so we are going to use duct tape to tie up his mouth so that he cannot shout and warn the others about the hidden grenade so they remain clueless.

Nails: As a group we also decided having loads of nails in a wooden crate or something similar surround one of the grenades would look very factory like and help set our scene.

Rope: We are also going to use old rope and put it on the floor around the area.

Paint Pots: We are using paint pots which should help set our scene

Most important Prop - part one

Our main prop we are going to need is a bomb. After thinking and researching about how to go about this we decided the best way forward is to use a grenade prop which we will have tied around the back of our victims body and we will use either cable ties or rope so that it looks like he has been tied up professionally the grenade will sit in his hands that are tied up so that it is not obvious to the special forces men when they walk in to the room.

Stage Makeup

I realised for our thriller we may need to make our actors look more realistic by using makeup. Particularly for our victim who is attached to the bomb as we want it to be as realistic as possible as if he has been hit and attacked.

After researching it became clear that stage makeup is a great tool when wanting to create a character.

I went online and researched possible makes and brands that we could use. I found fake blood as well as a base paint that could help our character look pale revealing to the audience just how weak and in danger he is.

Confirming set design part three

We did manage to create a new set design with all our props that we want to use. As we felt out last version did not give us a clear enough idea of what we are wanting to achieve.

We talked as a group then made our final sketch for the set design. This means when we shoot we have a much more clear idea of what props and actors need to go where and when. This should help us as we won't have to waste time on the day deciding where to put things instead as a group we all share one idea which should make the filming of our thriller run a lot smoother and easier.

Confirming set design part two

We talked to the media department and we decided we wanted to use a particular corner of the filming studio due to the fact it has a very factory like look to it. There are metal stairs and also the wall has lots of different patterns and shapes on it. This is why we will use this particular corner to make it look most like a factory.

Confirming set design- part one

We have drawn an A4 wide view sketch of our scene which has where each prop is going to placed and this enables us to know where, how and who is going to get this in time for our shoot in the next few weeks. We have talked to some of the media teachers at our school who have seen our sketch and given it the go ahead just making sure we know exactly how to have all the props ready for our shoot.
